- This
is an Incredible concert of one of the most important
Jazz Fusion bands of all time at their height, Recorded
before the release of their then current album "Black
Market" the band explodes with energy on each
cut, this is not the Weather Report that we heard
on the rather stale Live album "8:30", instead
this is a lean and muscular Weather Report playing
these songs while they were fresh in their blood,
Jaco is simply amazing, oddly at one point he starts
jamming behind Zawinul using the riff that would later
become "River People" from the Mr Gone Album.
Alex Acuna's performance on drums in a word is "Vibrant"
and as refreshing and energtic to hear if not more
so then his playing on the Heavy Weather Album. Keep
in mind that Alex actually played Percussion to Chester
Thompson's Drumming on the actual Black Market Album.
His Percussion solo with Manolo Bandrena (Also from
the Heavy Weather Album) which actually starts out
with Rumba Mama (1st cut second side of Heavy Weather)
leads into an exausting echange between the two. And
of course Zawinul and Shorter are in top Form. This
concert will revive and ignite the the most jaded
of Weather Report Fans, a must have.
