An unbelievable 1979 concert of Joni Mitchell backed by
the Demi Gods of Modern Jazz of the Day, Pat Methany on
Guitar, Lyle Mays on Keys, Michael Brecker on Sax, Don
Alias on Drums, and last but ceratinly not least, Jaco
Pastorius on Bass, this concert will leave you with a
profound respect for Joni as well as a crystal clear sense
of just what a MOTHER Jaco was. Watching the crowd look
on as Jaco takes the stage for his extended solo I couldn't
help but to wonder how many of those people had any Idea
who Jaco was, while I am sure that many were aware, I
also know that most were simply Joni Fans and probably
had no knowledge of Jaco, I could help but to think of
the faces in the Montery Crowd that witnessed Hendrix
decades ago while watching Jaco flip them out, and yes,
he was very aware that he was flipping them out, Simply
unbeleivable.
