HOWARD STERN CHANNEL 9 SHOW, 69 EPISODES, 23 DVDs, THE BEST QUALITY…PERIOD!
If you are at all interested in this series then you owe it to yourself to see how my set stands up against any others available, I either own or have seen every compilation that is out there, 14 DVD sets, 15 DVD sets & 21 DVD sets, simply put, these other sets simply cannot compare to what I have, as they are all compressed WAY too much, that is because all that has been done is that someone has simply used a desktop dvd recorder to record from the vhs tapes that have been out there for some time, commercials and all, with only general access to the contents of each disc, while the 14 & 15 DVD sets are not even worth mentioning, the best of the three is the 21 DVD set which is recorded at what is called a 4 hour setting, that is considered the economy setting for DVD recording, and in my opinion should be reserved for maybe instructional dvd where preserving video quality is not imperative, the 21 disc set you may see on ebay gives you 3 episodes per disc WITH commercials for the 1st half of the set, so each disc squeezes 3 full hour blocks onto a disc that at best should have no more than 2 hrs on it, on the 2nd half of the set they give you 4 hours of video to each disc, but what is important is that since there is no 3 hour mode, all discs, even the discs having 3 episodes on them are still recorded at the same 4 hour compression rate, evidenced by the fact that when you flip them over you will notice like a half inch ring of unburned disc, to me that is a shame, the video quality pixelates much like a mini mosaic and quite often (on the set that I have acquired) much of the screen freezes into big blocks of pixelation as if a breast shot was getting mosaiced on network TV, again this is because this is WAY too much compression.

I have done the opposite, each of the 23 discs is professionally authored with both Master and Sub-master animated fully interactive menus, you can see screenshots of them by clicking here, navigating to any part of each DVD is a breezeI have edited ALL commercials out, and because I use the best in professional editing software the compression that I use allows me to fit 90 minutes to a single disc, which is just about perfect save for some of the later shows where Howard cut a lot of his own commercials, of course I have to include them, so at times the three episodes just barely fits on the disc, again as evidenced by flipping my disc over, you will notice that ALL the disc is used, no freezing, no pixellation, add to the fact that I have the best video quality that is available, if better ever is available I will find it, and include it, and what I do with my customers of good standing is I send out a mailer and let them know that certain volumes have been upgraded, and I make the offer that for a small charge they can order the newly mastered replacements to their collection, in this way my customers always know that they will have the very best available, this is the way I want to enjoy the show, this is what I am also selling, if you are at all interested please visit the following links below,questions? reach me at panicden@yahoo.com, thank you, Digital_Archives:
